Porter, Texas in zip code 77365 and New Caney, Texas in zip code 77357 started out as small rural communities along US Highway 59 (now known as Interstate 69). The expanded growth from the Houston area has caused both of these communities to expand as well. New housing developments have sprung up increasing the population along with more schools and additional shopping centers. The Grand Parkway, another outer loop around the Houston area is providing more growth and better traffic connections.
