Best Reasons to Live in Northeast Houston
The northeast Houston area offers a great quality of life and a great choice of housing. Home prices in the area range from the $100,000’s to over $1 million. There are existing homes in established neighborhoods as well as new developments offering new builder homes. There are patio home communities, homes on the water and homes on the golf course. If you own a horse or just want more space, several acreage subdivisions offer homes or larger lots of 1 acre or more.
The ability to get around or travel in the area is enhanced by main thoroughfares such as Hwy 59, Sam Houston Parkway, the Grand Parkway and Loop 242. It is relatively easy to reach major employment centers like Bush Airport, the Houston Ship Channel or the Downtown Business District. Mass Transit is also available through the Metro system. A convenient park and ride lot is located on Hwy 59 in Humble and another in Kingwood on W. Lake Houston Pkwy.

School choice is no problem for the northeast area with 7 or more separate school districts. Many of the schools have been awarded high ranks, with students achieving great success in athletics and academics. For higher education, Lone Star College has several campuses in the area and offers a two-year degree. Of course, there are other four-year college and universities within driving distance.
Shopping centers and big box stores are available everywhere. Deerbrook Mall is located on Hwy 59 in Humble and is anchored by well-known department stores. The Woodlands Mall, another great shopping experience, is also easy to get to.
You won’t be disappointed by the choices in dining and entertainment. There are popular brand restaurants nearby serving steaks, BBQ, seafood, Italian, Mexican cuisine, etc. And of course, fast food. There are a number of movie theaters around as well as bowling, skating, etc. You will find an excellent selection of gold courses both public and private.
